Christianity Is Not Islam

The “intolerance” of Muslims for others’ faiths in limited parts of the world is highlighting world news. The many recurring atrocities show why the irrational intolerance of Islam must be kept out of America, and elsewhere. This is of great concern for every true Christian willing to confess Christ as “My Lord and my God!” (cf. Jo. 20:28; Matt. 10:32-33).

Unlike Muslims we do not deny Jesus’ deity but believe that He is God (cf. John 1:1-4, 14). Jesus was not blaspheming when He said He was God being the Son of God (cf. Lk. 1:35, 22:70; Jo. 5:18, 10:36). He was more than a servant or prophet and received worship because He was God (cf. Matt. 2:11, 4:10, 14:33; Rev. 22:9; Acts 10:26). The Lord Jesus Christ existed before the world and He created all things, even Adam (cf. Jo. 1:1-3, 14; Gen. 2:26-27). Jesus died on the Cross by the predetermined plan of God and shed His blood, just as He said, for our sins (cf. Acts 2:23; Matt. 26:28; Heb. 9:28). We do not believe He will return to win the world for Muslims (cf. Acts 1:11; 2 Pet. 3:10-13).

Muslims who deny Jesus’ deity and the basic principles of Christianity can in turn live civilly with Christians stating that they do not believe in Muhammad or Islam. Government should not participate in the destruction of the will to confess Christ. What others think of our belief is not as important in this context as what they cannot do to Christians in the United States or elsewhere. Christianity is certainly not a religion that endorses the senseless murder of individuals for either leaving or disagreeing!

Christianity Is Not Islam #2

(Jesus Did Die On The Cross!)

The “intolerance” of Muslims for others’ faiths in limited parts of the world is highlighting world news. The many recurring atrocities show why the irrational intolerance of Islam must be kept out of America, and elsewhere. The truth is that Muslims themselves deny the basic principles of Christianity. Thus, they can in turn live civilly with Christians stating that they do not believe in Muhammad or Islam.

Muslims not only deny the deity of Jesus but also claim God’s plan was that He should not die on the cross. They say the Jews had planned that He die on the cross, but God’s plan was to save Him from that death. They claim that the Jews’ plan miscarried and God’s plan succeeded. Some teach that He died a natural death in Kashmir.

Peter preached that Jesus was delivered over and put to death by predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, but God raised Him up (Acts 2:23-24). Those responsible for crucifying Him did what God’s hand and purpose predestined to occur (Acts 4:23-28). John himself said he witnessed His death (John 19:35). Islam denies that Jesus was who He said He was that made the Jews want to kill Him, i.e. the Son of God (Lk. 22:70; John 10:36, 33; 19:7). God’s eternal plan involved His death in Jerusalem. Afterwards it was proclaimed in the very city where it happened as proof of the Resurrected Christ! (cf. Acts 2:22-36). God’s plan through Christ is a permanent arrangement (cf. Eph. 4:4-14). We are complete in Him and He is the head over all rule and authority (cf. Col. 1:15-20; 2:8-12).

Christianity Is Not Islam #3

(Jesus Is the Son of God thus Himself God)

No one should disregard or deny the “intolerance” of radical Muslims for others’ faiths as shown in current news from Egypt and Iraq. This shows why such intolerance must be kept out of America and elsewhere. The truth is that Muslims themselves deny the basic principles of Christianity.  Thus, they can in turn live civilly with Christians stating that they do not believe in Muhammad or Islam. Muslims teach that Jesus was a messenger of God as a servant but He did not share in deity. The New Testament teaches that Jesus is the Son of God, thus Himself God as stated in John 1:1-3,14 --- not just a “messenger” sent by God.

The angel Gabriel told Mary that Jesus would be called “the Son of God” (cf. Lk. 1:35). The Jewish council heard Jesus reply that He was from His own mouth: “Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them,Ye say that I am. And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth” (Lk.22:70-71). When men were saying that Jesus was just one of the prophets the Father revealed that Jesus was the Son of the living God: “He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven” (cf. Matt. 16:13-17). Christianity Is Not Islam #4

(The Significance of the Birth of Jesus)

No one should disregard or deny the “intolerance” of radical Muslims for those not believing in Islam. This is why such intolerance must be kept out of America. The truth is that Muslims themselves deny the basic principles of Christianity.  Thus, they can in turn live civilly with Christians stating that they do not believe in Muhammad or Islam.

The plan in eternity that predetermined Jesus’ death (cf. Acts 2:22-24) also produced His birth (cf. Matt. 1:18-25; Gal. 4:4-5; Eph. 3:1-12; Phil. 2:5-11). Though most Muslims believe His birth was miraculous they see Him as just a man and a prophet. Jesus’ birth is said by some to be a warning that prophet hood, according to God’s covenant they say with Abraham, was transferred from Israel to the house of Ishmael. The Bible teaches it is “in Christ Jesus” that the blessing of Abraham comes to the Gentiles as well as the Jews (cf. Gal. 3:14). There is no covenant with Abraham in the Bible whereby through Ishmael one would give a law that supersedes Christ’s law, the New Testament, and the fulfillment of the Seed Promise to Abraham (cf. Jude 3). The Seed Promise was by Abraham through Isaac and the descendants of Jacob including David: cf. Gen. 3:15; Gen. 12:3, 22:18; Gen. 26:4; Gen. 28:14; Matt. 1:1-17. It was “in Christ Jesus” that the blessing of Abraham came to all men (Gal. 3:8-9, 13-16, 22, 26-29). His blood is that of the New Covenant --- the Gospel is God’s power unto salvation for all (Matt. 26:28; Mk. 16:15-16; Rom. 1:16-17). These articles at:

Christianity Is Not Islam #5

(There Is No Compromising the Truths of the New Testament)

The “intolerance” of radical Muslims for those not believing in Islam must be kept out of America and elsewhere. The truth is that Muslims themselves deny the basic truths of the New Testament. Thus, they can in turn live civilly with Christians stating that they do not believe in Muhammad or Islam. The gospel of Christ is the one way of salvation for all men (Jo. 14:6; Mk. 16:15-16; Rom. 1:16-17). Basic doctrines that Islam denies are:

   1. Jesus’ deity -- that He is God (cf. John 1:1-4, 14). Jesus being God existed before the world and He created all things (cf. Jo. 1:1-3; Col. 1:15-18). Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God (cf. Matt. 16:13-17). Jesus was more than a prophet and received worship because He is God (cf. Matt. 2:11, 4:10, 14:33).

   2. Jesus died on the Cross by the predetermined plan of God and shed His blood for our sins (cf. Matt. 27:50; Matt. 26:28; Acts 2:23-24. God raised Him up from the dead (Acts 2:23-24). God’s eternal plan that predetermined Jesus’ death also produced His birth (cf. Matt. 1:18-25; Eph. 3:1-12; Phil. 2:5-11).

   3. Christians are complete in Him and He, being God’s Son, is the head of all rule and authority (cf. Col. 1:13-20, 2:8-12; I Cor. 15:27).

   4. God’s plan through Christ, the Son of God, is a permanent arrangement (cf. Jo. 14:6; Gal. 1:8-9; Jude 3). It is “in Christ Jesus” the Son of God that the blessing of Abraham came to all men (Gal. 3:8-9, 13-16, 22, 26-29). Christianity Is Not Islam #6

(The Reign and Kingdom of Christ)

An earthly concept of world dominion by an Islamic messiah was introduced to unknowing Americans via “The Coming is Near” video. This shared video, said to be Iranian in nature, was used by a CBN terrorist analyst to present a “last days” Muslim belief. Supposedly Middle East unrest signals that the mahdi or Islamic messiah is about to appear --- this messiah “figure” is supposed to lead the armies of Islam to victory over all non-Muslims in the last days --- the mahdi will one day soon rule the world from Iraq. Iran, it says, is the power in the last days that will help defeat America and Israel. The goal of imposing Islam upon and ruling the West is clear. Encyclopedia Britannica states that the mahdi in Islamic eschatology is a messianic deliverer who will fill the Earth with justice and equity, restore true religion, and usher in a short golden age lasting seven, eight, or nine years before the end of the world. It says Mahdist beliefs form a necessary part of Shii doctrine. It also points out that the title has already been claimed by men in past times of social upheaval in Islamic societies.

World dominion eschatological beliefs are nothing new elsewhere i.e. outside of Islam. The false doctrine of Premillennialism teaches Christ comes back to the earth to reign from a new Temple from Jerusalem. However, Jesus Christ now rules from Heaven over all things (cf. Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 2:36; Eph. 1:18-21). He belongs not with the earthly, but the true tabernacle in Heaven which the Lord pitched not man (Heb. 1:3; 8:1-2). Christianity Is Not Islam #7

(Jesus’ Present Kingdom and Reign)

Christ’s reign is not like the supposed earthly reign – world dominion rule – of the recently predicted Islamic messiah figure, the Madhi ruling from Iraq. Jesus now rules from Heaven over all things (cf. Jo. 18:36; Matt. 28:18-20; Eph. 1:18-21). He belongs with the true tabernacle in Heaven which the Lord pitched not man (Heb. 1:3; 8:1-2). Consider these fundamentals:

1. The Kingdom has come. At baptism Christians are delivered out of darkness and translated “into the kingdom” of God’s Son (Acts 2:38; Col. 1:13, 2:9-12).

2. The Second Coming of Christ follows. Hebrews 9:27-28 teaches Jesus will come “a second time” meaning “a second time” which follows His having come the first time when He offered Himself. This is the “end” of Christ’s reign not the beginning! (I Cor. 15:23-24).

3. The Resurrection Day is the Day of His Second Coming. Those who are fallen asleep in Christ will rise first and come with Christ (I Thess. 4:13-16). Christians who are alive on earth will meet the Lord in the air – not on earth-- and so shall we ever be with Him (I Thess. 4:17-18).

4. The Judgment Day is the Resurrection Day. All in the graves come forth (John 5:28-29). “All” the nations are gathered before Him for judgment when He comes (Matt. 24:31-36). Those on His left hand go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life (Matt. 25:46).

5. The Resurrection Day is also the End of the Word -- the day the heavens will pass away and the elements will be destroyed, and the earth and its works will be burned up (2 Pet. 3:10-13). These articles at:  http://yumavalleychurchofchrist.com/articles/christianitynotislam.htm .
