The First Homosexuals Wed Civilly in Yuma
“First gay couple weds in Yuma”
This was the
title of the top story for The Sun, Oct. 23, 2014. Just beneath this title was
a picture of two Mexican men kissing, and the caption says one man kisses his
now-husband (the other man) after their marriage ceremony at the Yuma County
Courthouse Wednesday afternoon. Thus announcing that theirs was the first-ever
same sex marriage in Yuma County. At the very top of the front page we read
this caption that quotes the one not considered to be the husband: “We are
going to be legal. We are not going to be viewed as second-class citizens. We
are just human beings. We are just like any other person out there…”
Folks you don’t
find this kind of thing approved in the Bible (Cf. I Cor. 6:9-11). Thus the
import of our article for July 26, 2014 concerning mere “civil statutes”:
Surely Respect for Religious Freedom of Speech – Your Phobia!
Hate!
(Saturday, July 26, 2014)
Local churches
are to be the pillar and support of scriptural truth even though it is not the
popular consensus (I Tim. 3:15; 2 Tim. 4:1-4). Just because something becomes a
“civil statute” thus acceptable by civil law -- take no fault divorce -- that
does not automatically make it moral and right in God’s eyes. Divorce in the
New Testament is “also” a religious matter before God; at times it is a sin to
divorce, and remarriage can issue in an adulterous union (cf. Matt. 19:3,6, 9;
5:32; Lk. 16:18).
The matter of
gay marriage is much talked about. Although it is recognized “civilly” by some states, that will not make it “spiritually” right in God’s
sight (cf. Matt. 19:5-6). Christians have a right to oppose this just like a
guest column for the Sun recently explained: “Of course, religious groups have a
constitutional right to oppose gay marriage and to refuse to perform same-sex
weddings. And as long as we uphold the First Amendment, that
will continue to be the case.” When a group practicing that which is immoral is
given status “civilly” ---- then suddenly it is “hate speech” when others
continue as they always have to identify “religiously” a specific immorality.
Those claiming to be for freedom of speech want censorship while crying Phobia!
Hate! All must uniformly speak as “they” else the motives are to be impugned
and the characters assassinated.
A great
weakness and lack of respect for “religious” freedom of speech is seen in
objecting to specific sins being identified and requiring that others speak in
generalities.

Husband & wife are identified by God in the Bible
1. Gen 2:23 And Adam said: "This is now bone
of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was
taken out of Man."
2. Gen 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father
and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
3. Gen 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and
his wife, and were not ashamed.
Important definitions of “woman” - “wife”:
“woman” – “wife” (Gen. 2:23-25)
H802 נשׁים /
אשּׁה
'ishshâh / nâshı̂ym
BDB Definition:
1) woman, wife, female
1a) woman (opposite of man)
1b) wife (woman married to a man)
God created them “male” and “female”
A “female” can’t
be a “husband” nor can a “male” be a “mother” or “wife” (Gen. 1:27; Gen. 3). In
Gen. 1:27 “female” H5347 neqêbâh—BDB
Definition: 1) female 1a) woman, female child Part of Speech: noun feminine.
Now compare the
account of finding Moses’ mother who would nurse him as an infant:
“Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go
and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for
thee? And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the
child's mother. And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and
nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child,
and nursed it” (Ex. 2:7-9).
1) “Nurse” (H3243): “to give milk” – “to give suck to,
nurse.”
2) Mat 19:4 And he
answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the
beginning made them male and female,” —
“female” (G2338):
a) W.E. Vine: Female thelus
(G2338), an adjective (from thele, "a
breast"), is used in the form thelu
(grammatically neuter) as a noun, "female," in Mat_19:4; Mar_10:6;
Gal_3:28; in the feminine form theleia, in Rom_1:26,
"women"; Rom_1:27 "woman." see WOMAN.
Are you getting
the truth in this! “To give milk, to give suck to, nurse” is not in the guy’s
makeup who is said to be kissing his now-husband!
A “man” cannot bear children!
1. Gen 3:16 Unto
the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in
sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband,
and he shall rule over thee.
2. Gen 3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve;
because she was the mother of all living.
Is a man capable of becoming a mother! Women bear children!
1) A man can’t be a wife to another man;
2) A man can’t be a husband to another man;
3) A woman can’t be a husband to anyone;
4) A woman can’t be a wife to another woman.
When God created
male and female the female and woman (one sex) stands opposite of the male
(Gen. 1:27; Matt. 19:4). Both husband and wife are identified by God from the
beginning of creation. The man who is kissing his so called now-husband doesn’t
look like a woman nor does he even claim he’s a woman yet twists the natural
order and says he considers them normal. Not so! A woman and wife in the bible
refers to “woman” as the opposite of man, i.e. a wife who is a woman with a man
as her husband (Gen. 2:23-25). A husband cannot bear children (Gen. 3:16) or be
a mother (Gen. 3:20). The woman (female) nurses her child – nurse meaning “to
give milk” or “to give suck to” (Ex. 2:7-9). That is not in a man’s makeup! A
man is not a wife to another man nor a husband to another man; a woman is not a
husband to anyone, nor is she a wife to another woman. This is why true
Christians in any race, Mexican or otherwise, see the perversion of Romans
1:26-27 in this.
