The Transgender Attack #2
Our last publication
was based upon two prior articles appearing in The Sun, our local newspaper,
for the months of May and June, 2016. Here is the third in this series that
appeared in the July 23rd, 2016 edition:
“Surely Not Adding to Confusion ~ the
Transgender Directive #3 of 3”
“Any thinking person
can realize that reasoning based upon the bible, and it’s definitions of
immoralities, will differ from the world’s wisdom in almost all circumstances.
Christians know that man’s wisdom is not God’s, and the wisdom of God is looked
upon as foolishness to the world (Isa. 55:8-9; I Cor. 1:18, 23). When a society
denies them the right of both holding and speaking their belief based upon the
bible, it fails miserable in freedom of both religion and speech.
At times even the
world decries an “immorality” —for example I Cor. 5:1 where the Gentiles would
not even practice what the ungodly Christian did in committing fornication with
his father’s wife. An example of the world’s wisdom is Dr. Paul R. McHugh’s
(Johns Hopkins Psychiatrist) commentary where he is quoted as stating the
person’s assumption of sex misalignment is mistaken—it does not correspond with
the physical reality. He is quoted as stating, “policy makers and the media are
doing no favors either to the public or the transgendered by treating their
confusions as a right in need of defending rather than as a mental disorder
that deserves understanding, treatment and prevention.” Most likely his
assessment will not make the majority in his own field involved with this
matter very happy. He correctly says the much promoted “sex change” is an
impossibility.
Being Christians we
have presented the consistency found in the Bible – that being God has created
two sexes, male and female. We have used scriptures that point to both the
spiritual dangers, as well as dangers to the public that tie to the transgender
‘decree.’”

The example of the
world’s wisdom given — Dr. Paul R. McHugh’s commentary — would in part agree
with the Bible in that he said the much promoted “sex change” is an
impossibility. God’s wisdom is foolishness to the world; it appears that
someone in his field, that being himself, has finally been willing to put the
hammer to part of the foolishness found in the world’s wisdom concerning
“transgender”. One can only imagine the screams from the LGBTQ activists as
they see a fading decree in 1973 when the APA gave in to them and voted to
remove homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses — thus homosexuality was
no longer listed as abnormal, or sexual deviation, in the seventh edition of
DSM-II, which was issued in 1974.
Some points from Dr.
McHugh’s commentary that tend to pound the wisdom of the world here:
Transgender is a “Mental Disorder” that merits
treatment and so called “Sex Change” is Biologically Impossible
A review of Dr. McHugh’s commentary in the Wall Street
Journal (updated May 12, 2016) states: “Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former
psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished
Service Professor of Psychiatry, said that transgenderism is a “mental
disorder” that merits treatment, that sex change is “biologically impossible,”
and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with
and promoting a mental disorder” (CNSNEWs.com by Michael W. Chapman, June 2,
2015). He says there that Dr. McHugh “explained that transgender surgery is not
the solution for people who suffer a “disorder of ‘assumption’” – the notion
that their maleness or femaleness is different than what nature assigned to
them biologically.”
Being a Christian I
ask myself, Will it ever be described as a carnal lust like the Bible describes
it?
Here are some points
taken from Dr. McHugh’s commentary — the headings are mine.
It is intensely felt but their idea of sex
misalignment is simply mistaken — it does not correspond to the physical
reality
Chapman:
“This intensely felt sense of being transgendered constitutes a mental disorder
in two respects. The first is that the idea of sex misalignment is simply
mistaken – it does not correspond with physical reality. The second is that it
can lead to grim psychological outcomes.”
Again, as a Christian, when they call and say they are looking for a
church that gives counselling that would allow them to pursue such intense
feelings, I simply tell them up-front that they are having some evil thoughts
and if they’re willing I can show them their sin. And that we have both men and
women knowledgeable in God’s word that really can help them.
Chapman: He related, “The transgendered person’s disorder, said Dr.
McHugh, is in the person’s “assumption” that they are different than the
physical reality of their body, their maleness or femaleness, as assigned by
nature. It is a disorder similar to a “dangerously thin” person suffering
anorexia who looks in the mirror and thinks they are “overweight,” said McHugh.”
The assumption is that one’s gender is only in
their mind — leads to a push for social acceptance
Chapman: “This assumption, that one’s gender is only in the mind
regardless of anatomical reality, has led some transgendered people to push for
social acceptance and affirmation of their own subjective “personal truth,”
said Dr. McHugh. As a result, some states – California, New Jersey, and
Massachusetts – have passed laws barring psychiatrists, “even with parental
permission, from striving to restore natural gender feelings to a transgender
minor,” he said.”
Suicide; Can get over it; Promoting it as normal
Chapman: “He also reported on a new study showing that the suicide rate
among transgendered people who had reassignment surgery is 20 times higher than
the suicide rate among non-transgender people.”
Chapman: “Dr. McHugh further noted studies from Vanderbilt University
and London’s Portman Clinic of children who had expressed transgender feelings
but for whom, over time, 70%-80% “spontaneously lost those feelings.”
Chapman: “While the Obama administration, Hollywood, and major media
such as Time magazine promote transgenderism as normal, said Dr. McHugh, these
“policy makers and the media are doing no favors either to the public or the
transgendered by treating their confusions as a right in need of defending
rather than as a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment and
prevention.”
Surgery produced a still troubled patient
“The pro-transgender advocates do
not want to know, said McHugh, that studies show between 70% and 80% of
children who express transgender feelings “spontaneously lose those feelings”
over time. Also, for those who had sexual reassignment surgery, most said they
were “satisfied” with the operation “but their subsequent psycho-social
adjustments were no better than those who didn’t have the surgery.””
“And so at Hopkins we stopped doing
sex-reassignment surgery, since producing a ‘satisfied’ but still troubled
patient seemed an inadequate reason for surgically amputating normal organs,”
said Dr. McHugh.”
As a Christian — the almighty God knew what He was doing in telling them
to repent and be baptized for the remission of their sins, and then live
faithfully until death (Cf. Acts 2:38; Acts 18:8; I Cor. 5:9-11, 6:9-10, the
conversions of the Corinthians).
His warning included: ‘everything is normal’
sex education; schools’ “diversity counselors” with the wrong advice
Chapman: “The former Johns Hopkins chief of psychiatry also warned
against enabling or encouraging certain subgroups of the transgendered, such as
young people “susceptible to suggestion from ‘everything is normal’ sex
education,” and the schools’ “diversity counselors” who, like “cult leaders,”
may “encourage these young people to distance themselves from their families
and offer advice on rebutting arguments against having transgender surgery.”
He warned against misguided doctors!
Chapman: “Dr. McHugh also reported that there are “misguided doctors”
who, working with very young children who seem to imitate the opposite sex,
will administer “puberty-delaying hormones to render later sex-change surgeries
less onerous – even though the drugs stunt the children’s growth and risk
causing sterility.”
Chapman: “Such action comes “close to child abuse,” said Dr. McHugh,
given that close to 80% of those kids will “abandon their confusion and grow
naturally into adult life if untreated ….”
Sex change is biologically impossible —
claiming this is civil-rights matter and encouraging surgical intervention is
collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder
Chapman: “‘Sex change’ is biologically impossible,” said McHugh. “People
who undergo sex-reassignment surgery do not change from men to women or vice
versa. Rather, they become feminized men or masculinized women. Claiming that
this is civil-rights matter and encouraging surgical intervention is in reality
to collaborate with and promote a mental disorder.”
And of course we all know that he is right in saying the so called “sex
change” is biologically impossible.
