We welcome any opportunity we might have to discuss any questions that you might have concerning the Word of God and our teaching or practice. We believe we should constantly be comparing what we do with God’s Word in order that we might know that we are in compliance with what it teaches (I Thess. 5:21). It is our fervent prayer that you, likewise, will desire to investigate the teachings of God’s Word. Why? Because Jesus said, “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him — the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day” (John 12:48). All men will be judged by His word on the day of judgment (2 Cor. 5:10). One reason that you need to investigate the Word of God is because men have made additions to the worship and work of the church that we read about in our New Testament. There are many warnings against “adding to” (Rev. 22:18), “taking from” (Rev. 22:19) and “going beyond” (2 Jo. 9) the teachings of Christ and the apostles. Since the scriptures are complete (Jude 3) and thoroughly furnish us unto every good work (2 Tim. 3:16-17) it is man’s duty to stay within the guidelines of the scriptures. The many innovations we see today no doubt are pleasing to man, but it is not man that we should seek to please ——— rather it is God who has given us all things necessary to pleasing Him.
